Badger Tennis wrapped up its last district tennis match last night. A disadvantaged Burnet team in a rebuilding mode was no match for the Badgers and it was 10-0 Lampasas when it was all over. The Badgers are 8-1 for the year now. They will play again next Friday against Cove..

They are off until then because they have a bye in the quarterfinals next Thursday, then they'll play in the semi finals match on the 13th. Coach Kenneth Peiser says the "players are excited about their district championship - and should be. They've played very well this year..."

Badger Football, enjoying the extra week of preparation offered by this week's open date, is getting ready for their October 7 meeting with the Gatesville Hornets.

The Lometa Hornets (3-2) are headed to Sidney today to play the Sidney Eagles(0-3).
