  • Labor Day will see the clouds return and a 20% chance of rain in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies and a high of about 89° and SE wind 5-15 mph.    Have a happy outdoor Labor Day!

The Blotter

  • Lampasas Police had only the usual animal complaints and several of the typical Friday escorts yesterday. Surprisingly, with a huge crowd in town for the ball game and a packed Labor Day weekend highway, there were no accidents nor arrests up to midnight last night.
  •  Lampasas Sheriff's Office blotter shows several traffic stops and crashes in Kempner, as well as a shots fired call. Copperas Cove also had a shots fired call, a disturbance and a reckless driver.
  • Out in the county there were several livestock calls, a few reckless drivers and a crash. There was also reports of suspicious activity and a runaway.
  • The jail log shows 3 arrests. A 38 yr old Wichita Falls man was arrested for public intoxication and a 58 yr old Lampasas man was arrested for a commitment charge. Paulino Anthony Reyna, 43, of Lampasas was taken into custody for assault on a family member/impeding breathing/circulation with previous convictions. 

The Burn Ban in Lampasas Co. is lifted until Sept. 12th.
