WNL - Packed House for Brandon Jenkins

Popular Texas-Red Dirt singer Brandon Jenkins (above) brought a packed house to Toupsie's covered patio Wednesday night. On stage, and opening the show was Libby Koch.

Libby was a real trooper, coming in when she had a bit of laryngitis from a bout with allergies. She did a short set with her best tunes, then turned it over to rising star Felix Truvere

for another opener. Then it was what the crowd came for - the burly, rough looking Brandon Jenkins - who writes and sings his music with the kind of sensitivity you just don't expect from a guy that you think must have rode up on a Harley.

Brandon did his ever-popular Finger On The Trigger and My Feet Don't Touch The Ground, along with the top-charting song from his latest album, The Flag, and its newest release, Shadow Of A Broken Heart. Altogether, he spent over an hour on stage, singing his own tunes, and you could see from the movement of lips in the crowd that everybody knew the words.

Lampasas Radio's Wednesday Night Live will be back in October - stay tuned.
