Lampasas County is enjoying the recent rainfall that will help "set" wildflower and pasture grass seed, and perhaps send our lawns and gardens into fall and dormancy in better condition.
On another front, a ribbon cutting ceremony is taking place on Thursday from 4-6pm for Pulatie Taxidermy & Processing on E. Hwy 190. This business is another one getting ready for the deer hunting season which is just around the corner.
LHS news includes the fact that the FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Aid) opens for students and parents on Oct. 1st. This is a change from previous years when it didn't open until January 1st. Gear Up is encouraging all seniors to complete the FAFSA during October. Also, on Oct. 5th, the CTC Financial Aid director will be at LHS to present information and answer questions on the FAFSA, Grants and Scholarships. There will be sessions at 3:45 and 5:30pm.
