Saturday, September 10 was the annual District FFA Fun Day from 1-5 pm at the Lampasas Old middle school gym, hosted by the Lampasas FFA. The Fun day was run by the District FFA officers and the curriculum and activities focused on leadership skills development. Seventy- five students participated at Fun day from 7 FFA chapters.
Tomorrow, September 13, is the annual Lampasas High School FFA Potluck Dinner and membership at 6pm in the Lampasas High School cafeteria. Local FFA officers will visit with new and returning members about the FFA Program of work and SEITZ Meat Company out of Fredericksburg will be providing various meats and sweets to kick off the annual Thanksgiving Day Meat and Sweets program that the FFA undertakes each year as its' main fundraiser. Additionally, Lampasas Agriscience Advisors Ricky Prescott, Clint Nygard, and Dr. Steve Forsythe will be available to answer questions and provide resources. A special FFA Membership table will be set up and FFA store where students can pay their annual dues and purchase FFA tees and caps, if interested. Annual FFA dues are $15.00 per year for 9th through 12th graders and Junior FFA dues-grades 3rd through 8th grade are $5.00 per year. The local Lampasas County Young Farmers adult education support group will also be available to re- sign up YF members and recruit new ones. All FFA/Agrisciebce students and their families are invited and encouraged to bring one side dish each.
