Badger Football started their regular season off with a bang, beating the Fredericksburg Billies with a score of 33-12.

Up next for the Badgers is another home game this Friday night, September 2, against Robinson at 7:30pm. That game, as the rest of the Badger Varsity games this season, will be broadcast over Lampasas Radio’s KCYL 1450 AM and online at lampasasradio.com.

Lometa Hornet Football won with a whopping 66-20 against Mullin last Friday night, after the game being called at 1:04 in the 4th quarter due to a 6-man mercy rule.

The Hornets will face Cherokee at home this Friday, beginning at 7:30pm.

Badger Tennis beat Georgetown Eastview Friday with a score of 13-6, making the team’s win-loss record 3-1.

The team will head to Belton tomorrow for a match with a much larger school.

Badger Cross Country won 1st place at the Belton Invitational on Friday.


Up next for the Cross Country team is the Pro-fit Cross Country Invitational at Wilson Park in Temple at 8am this Friday, September 2.

Lady Badger Volleyball lost over the weekend against Killeen High and Taylor at the Rockdale Varsity Tournament.

Scores against Killeen were 13-25 and 11-25; and scores against Taylor were 19-25 and 22-25.

Tournament leaders were Rylee Davis with 8 kills, Monica Garza with 15 digs, Abigail Martin with 11 assists and 3 aces and Diane Hurst with 2 blocks.

Coach Denise Ponder said the team started slow against Killeen but went toe-to-toe with Taylor until the end to almost pull out the win. She said the team fought hard and they weren’t afraid to be aggressive.

Tomorrow the Volleyball teams will be in Shoemaker. The 9th and JV teams will play at 5:30pm, with the Varsity following at 6:30pm.
