Badger Volleyball won on Saturday. The girls worked hard, according to Head Coach Denise Ponder, they "didn't give up," and when they were down by 2 games and went on to 5 games in their match with Bangs, they came up as winners.

It was a big win for the girls in their early season play. In their last match they had lost all three to Rogers, but now they are on the winning track and hope to stay there. They will be up against Ellison, there, on Tuesday afternoon at 6pm. The 9th/JV will play at 5pm.

Badger Football, playing in a scrimmage Friday, was at Elgin for the evening. Their first game will take place this Friday on Badger turf at 7:30pm when the Fredericksburg Billies come to town. That is a non-district game, as are all of the games up to Oct. 7th, when Lampasas meets Gatesville in its first district game of the year.

Lampasas football will be different this year, with new Head Coach and AD Troy Rogers. The Badgers are expected to do a lot of passing and have a sort of "opportunistic" offense.

The Badgers District 13-4A matchups this year include last year's state champs, La Vega, along with close matchups in China Spring and Liberty Hill. It will be an uphill battle, but the new offense and program should be up to the challenge.

The Freshmen/JV teams will play Fredericksburg, there, at 5 and 6:30pm, on Thursday.

The Middle School teams will not play until Thursday, Sept. 8th, when they host Wimberley at Badger Stadium with gamesthat begin at 4:30pm

Badger Fall Tennis was at Brownwood on Saturday.

The team will be in Copperas Cove on Tuesday with 3:30pm games beginning.
