Sales Tax Report

 The State Comptroller has released checks to Cities and other Taxing Districts around the state for their portion of the state sales tax that was collected in May and turned over to the state in June by the retail stores that collected it. Overall, Texas cities' check amounts were up by 2.7%, but those cities affected by the drop in oil prices were down considerably. The City of Lampasas had a good month for local shops as the tax rebate to the City was up 7.17% over the same month last year. The City's check was for $136,774. Other area towns' checks were for: Kempner $11,774, up by 21.47% Lometa $5,320, down by 12.79% San Saba $30,425, down by 27.57% Goldthwaite $25,680, up by 12.3% Hamilton $41,126, up by 2.74% Hico $25,237, up 21.73% Copperas Cove $321,154, down by .43% Gatesville $152,785, down by 1.93% Burnet $161,005, up by 2.39% Marble Falls $645,831, up by 6.34%
