At Inks Lake State Park this morning at 11am there is a Devils Waterhole Paddling Clinic. It's $10 per kid and $12 for adults for the day's fun and skill-learning. At 6pm in the afternoon there'll be fishing skills learned at the Fishing with a Ranger clinic near the Park Store, and at 8pm there'll be a Fireside Chat with a Ranger with free SMORES.
On Saturday morning at 9am there'll be an Independence Day Bike Parade with decorations in order, then a Kids Kayak Clinic at 1pm with a $3 per kid fee, then a Night Canoe Paddle event for people age 15 and up at 8pm. The fee for that one is $15.
Inks Lake State Park is a little over 30 miles from Lampasas. Go to Burnet on Hwy 281, then west on Hwy 29 to Park Road 4, and another 3 miles to the park headquarters. The lake is full and in great shape right now for a visit.
