Death Count From Texas Floods of 2016 Mounts

We're not sure now, as confused reports are being issued, but it appears that flood waters in Texas have contributed to over a dozen deaths so far. Governor Abbott has declared a state of disaster in several more counties, including Austin, Bastrop, Colorado, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Montgomery, Waller and Wharton. More declarations may be coming after the last few day’s rains. Houston has been the biggest death toll area with tremendous flooding along the coastal area. It came as raging rivers, swollen with Texas rains, came downstream to the coast and met with some 8 inches of rainfall from off shore storms moving north. That storm, and others, have saturated the state and the Blanco and other rivers and streams across Texas have brought deaths to Texans of all ages.
