After a very wet spring, sheep and goat herds may well be infected with more parasite problems than usual. The Agri-Life Extension Service has scheduled a workshop on Tuesday with Extension Sheep and goat Specialist, Dr. Reid Redden to explain the different internal parasites and deworming strategies and anthelmintics that are available.
The workshop includes a Wet Lab and attendees are invited to bring fecal samples and learn how to identify the different parasites that affect sheep and goat herds.
Registration will begin at 1:30pm and the program will begin at 2pm at the Lampasas County Farm Bureau Meeting Room. There is a $10 charge to attend. Space is limited so attendees area asked to pre-register by calling the extension office at 512-556-8271.
