Memorial Day Weekend to See Several Events

It kicks off at 10am Saturday with Team Penning, Team Sorting, Calf Branding and Trailer Loading and all the other ranch/team rodeo sort.  Beyond the High School Graduation events taking place today around the area, golfers entered in the weekend A.C. January Memorial Day Golf Tournament will be crowding onto the course today for their practice-warmup round.
The 66th Annual Memorial Day Tournament will officially kick off at 8am Saturday morning with 192 golfers on hand for the competition. Other events this weekend include a Benefit Co-Ed Rodeo going
on in the covered “Bar 17” Arena at 2384 CR 2315 near Lampasas.of events. Since it is a covered arena, it's a rain or shine event. All proceeds go to Sarah Watson to assist with her expenses for cancer
treatment. There will be buckles going to the top teams.
Pools Open on Saturday for the season. Both the Hanna Springs and the Hancock Park Pools will be opening up at noon and going to 7pm all weekend, thru Monday's Memorial Day. Lampasas Fire Dept. is having a fundraiser on Saturday from 9am to 1pm where they'll be giving away T-Shirts and Burgers and there'll be a free Yeti cooler for someone after a drawing. Anyone who takes a test drive in a new Ram truck will cause a $20 donation to be made to the Fire Dept. from Benny Boyd's Ram Truck dealership. This entire event will take place at the Fire Dept. at 1107 E. 4th Street in Lampasas. On Monday, Memorial Day, the Kempner community is gathering in their Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park on Hwy 190 to the east end of town for a special ceremony.
The event is to honor the memory of those who gave their all to thecause of freedom and democracy in  our world. The event will begin at 11am and all are invited.
