The Republican Primary Runoff takes place today at polling places in Lampasas County. If you wish to vote in the Republican Primary Runoff, today is the day to go to the Lampasas New Covenant Church, the Kempner Fire Training Station or the JP 2 Office in Lometa. You may vote in any of these polling places, regardless of what voting precinct you reside in. The polls will be open from 7am to 7pm.
One choice is for who should take over the Republican Primary Election candidacy for the District 54 State Representative seat. The candidates are Scott Cosper, the Killeen Mayor, and area Optometrist, Dr. Austin Ruiz.
Another choice is for who should take over as the Republican Candidate for the District 24 State Senator race. Running are Susan King, a 5 term Texas House member, and Dr. Dawn Buckingham, a Lakeway eye surgeon. Whoever wins will face Democrat Virginia “Jennie Lou” Leeder in November.
Republicans will also decide on a Railroad Commissioner candidate between Gary Gates and Wayne Christian, and two Judge seats on the Criminal Appeals Court.
Democrats are only voting on a Railroad Commissioner Candidate between Cody Garrett and Grady Yarbrough. The rest of the Democratic Candidates were chosen in March.
