Lampasas Basketball Sweeps Tournaments

Both Lampasas Varsity Basketball Teams won all their games in tournaments this week.

The Lady Badgers basketball team began the Troy Holiday Classic Tournament by defeating Waco Reicher 70-29 and Fort Worth Southwest Christian 61-35 on Tuesday.

Coach Jennie Bowden’s Lady Badgers then returned on Wednesday, ready to play, and defeated Troy by a score of 47-44 in overtime. High scorers in that game were Alexis Theus with 16 points,  Abby Martin with 9, followed closely by Diane Hurst with 8 and Kloe Corbin with 7 points.

The Ladies then went on to win their final game against Moody in double overtime 42-40. Alexis Theus was dominant in that one with 17 points followed by Abby Martin with 7, Diane Hurst with 6 and Morgann Schroeder with 5 points.  

The team, 4-0 in the tournament, is now 11-11 on the season.

The girls’ next game is on Monday January 2nd in Canyon Lake.

The Running Badger Mens team was in Boerne this week, besting all teams in a round-robin tournament.

On Tuesday, our boys defeated Wimberley 58-40, and Harlandale 62-59. Then on Wednesday they were back in town to beat Boerne 65-48 and San Antonio Holy Cross High School 65-63 to finish the tournament 4-0.

The boys next game is Friday, January 6th as they host Leander Glenn High School here in Badger Gym.
