The Angel Tree benefitting area foster children in the county annex building at 409 S. Pecan still has tags available for residents to help these kids.
Tags on the tree give an age and if the child is a boy or a girl, people are welcome to give more than one gift, and they need to be unwrapped. Gift cards are accepted also. Becca at the Extension office tells Lampasas Radio that most of the tags left are for the older kids.
The deadline to drop off gifts is 5pm on Friday. After that the area CASA volunteers will pick up the gifts to distribute them to the children. This year the need is great as there are four times as many children as previous years.
The County Extension office has more information at 512-556-8271.
Lampasas Fire Chief, Reese Oestreich shared with Lampasas Radio this morning that with the toy and cash donations combined, approximately 10,000 items were raised by the toy drive for the children in our community.
Way to go Lampasas!
