Fire Department Toy Drive

The Lampasas Fire Department along with the Lampasas Police Departmenthosted their annual community Christmas luncheon yesterday, offering residents both a chance to say goodbye to retiring Police Chief Tim Angermann, and to help with the Fire Department’s toy drive.

Donations of unwrapped new toys were accepted, and according to the local fire department the turnout was good. LFD told Lampasas Radio that more than 450 people attended, possibly as many as 500, and while the firefighters are still sorting and counting, (no total available until tomorrow morning) they have plenty to work with.

With the cash donations that were made, the firefighters will be able to purchase more bicycles and wagons for the local kids tomorrow, as well as other things.
