Local School Sports

Lampasas Badger Boys Basketball has been in Hamilton for the tournament there, where they advanced to the semi-finals.  The freshmen fell to the Hamilton Bulldogs and Cameron Yoe, and play again today.

Lady Badger Freshmen and JV teams were at Cherokee for a tournament.

The Lometa Hornets Boys and Girls Basketball teams are in Lohn for tournament play today. The girls lost to Utopia 44-20 yesterday andplay Mullin today at noon. The Lometa boys basketball team beat Utopia 89-54, and play Mullin today as well.  

Lampasas Middle School Boys Basketball is at home Monday against Salado with games starting at 5pm. The Middle School Girls are at Salado at the same times.

Lampasas Lady Badgers Basketball will be at Salado on Tuesday for their 1st road game of the week. Sub-varsity games begin at 5:15pm.

Lampasas Running Badger Boys Basketball and the Lampasas Lady Badger Basketball teams will both head for Llano on Friday for games that will start at 5:15pm with sub-varsity teams and proceed through to the varsity girls at 6:30pm and the varsity boys at 8pm.

That Running Badger varsity boys team will be up against former Lometa coach Aaron Nuckles. Coach Nuckles, a former LHS graduate and later a coach here, went on to a very successful career at Lometa. He is now in his first year as the head coach in Llano where he is hoping to be able to turn that program around
