Going on this weekend

Ink’s Lake State Park is hosting a geo-caching workshop at 10am, with a cost of $3, and participants are asked to meet behind the store and bring water. The Yellow Trail Summit Night Hike is taking place at Ink’s Lake State Park as well at 5pm. Hikers are asked to meet at the Pecan Flats Trailhead and bring water and a flashlight.

The Lampasas High School Wind Ensemble in conjunction with the Heights Concert Band are presenting a free concert on Saturday evening at 7pm at the Lampasas High School Cafeteria. The Heights Concert Band was founded in 1976 by its conductor, Carlton R. Morris. Since that
time, the band has enjoyed a reputation for presenting highly entertaining programs. The programs include military marches, overtures, Broadway show tunes, solos, trios and popular songs.

The Perception Creative Art School 12x12 Art Show & Wine Tasting Fundraiser is Saturday from 7-9:30pm at 415 E. 3rd St. in Lampasas. This is a juried Art Show, paintings will be viewed from 7-8:30pm, then the sale will begin. The Wine Tasting is $10 for 6 tastings, (wine glass included).

The Lometa VFD Fundraiser is Sunday at 11am at the fire hall at 106 E. San Saba in Lometa.
Kempner VFD is hosting an open house on Sunday from 1-5pm at 315 Pecan St. in Kempner at the main station. The public is invited to meet the staff, check out the equipment and have a BBQ sandwich.
