Badger Football is on the road tonight with a 7:30pm district game against the Gatesville Hornets.
The 1-4 Badgers have an uphill battle against the 3-2 Hornets - a team with a strong defense that has the ability to counter Lampasas' potentially explosive offense. Lampasas defense will, itself, have to step up to the mark to keep Gatesville out of the end zone. Tonight's first district game is an important test for this year's Badger team.
The game will be broadcast over KCYL 1450AM and over the internet at lampasasradio.com.
Badger freshmen and JV football met, and conquered, their Gatesville Hornet counterparts last night on Badger turf.

The JV team got off to a great start with a diving interception by safety Jonathon Gutheridge, then the defense continued to hammer the Hornets, shutting them out in the first half. The Badger offense did score, making it 6-0 at halftime. The home boys scored first in the second half with Jon Davis in on a QB sneak. Another extra point failed-making it 12-0. The Hornets then put one in to make it 6-12 and with three minutes left in the game they scored again and got a two point conversion to put the Badgers behind at 12-14. Lampasas got the ball back and marched it down the field on throws from Jon Davis to Owen Davis and runs by Qadir Tolliver. Davis went in on another QB sneak and it was an 18-14 Badger victory.

The 7th Grade teams both won their games with Gatesville. The 7th Grade A rolled over Gatesville 44-12 and the B team did the same, giving the Hornets a 22-0 whipping.
The A team game saw Case Brister turn in a 50 yard run, then run a 2 point conversion. Later he ran a 75 yard kick return for another touchdown.
