Cross Country Headed to State

Over the weekend the Badger boys and girls Cross Country teams both competed in the Regional Meet at Sam Houston State University.

The boys team placed 6th out of 22 teams in a field of 169 runners, and only missed qualifying for the state meet by 13 points as a team. Two Badgers, however, qualified for state as individuals, Nathan Herrin and Connor Cummings.

The girls team finished 3rd place out of 22 teams in a field of 159 runners and the team qualified for the state meet. Others that qualified for state were Fairfield (1st), Liberty Hill (2nd) and Huffman Hargrave (4th) from Region3. The girls team includes Taylor Moore, Megan Sittner, Kyndal Moyer, Mackenzie Best, Annabelle Brack, Alette Cook and Megan Patterson.

Head Cross Country Coach James Allison said that he is proud of the girls’ dedication and all they’ve accomplished this year and getting to state is truly exciting and exemplifies their hard work.
