Lampasas County Commissioners are set to meet in a special workshop session on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30pm in the County Annex Conference Room.
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss, with the Burns Architect firm, “… duties and all phases of the new jail construction by his firm and the requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. This meeting is to better understand the concept of planning and building to completion a new Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office and Jail.”
A few years ago the Commissioners, at that time, had set out to build a large new jail and law enforcement complex, only to have the project turned down by voters in a special election.
The County has not planned a voter optional bond election on this matter, but has instead opted to contract an architect to design and lay out a plan for building the new center.
There has not yet been very much information released on exactly what the Commissioner’s Court is planning.
Wednesday’s workshop session will begin at 1:30pm
