Lampasas County Commissioners meet Monday morning with one interesting item on the agenda...a possible auction for County property located at 11678 W. FM 580. The small tract of land is located at Nix and was for many years used as the Precinct 2 equipment and storage barn. The Commissioner of Precinct 2, Jim Lindeman, had questioned some months ago what should be done with the barn as he didn't feel the need for it any more. The Court's general answer at the time was for him to study the issue and come back with a proposal. That matter is now to come before the court. Other, minor matters, include a request from Kempner Water Supply Corp. to install a water line across CR 3340 and 3342, and the setting of County Holidays and meeting dates for 2017.

Lampasas City Council will meet Monday evening in their chambers. On the 5:30pm closed door agenda is a deliberation about real property, followed by a special session where some action may be taken on the closed door discussion. A workshop session will then follow, where DRT members will be on hand to discuss the Hostess House lease and improvements, along with general discussion on funding priorities for planned Capital Projects.

In a regular session at 7pm, there will be reports and discussions, one of which will be an appeal of a sign permit matter at 208 N. Key, the appointment of an Associate Judge for Municipal Court, the appointment of some board members for several city boards and commissions, and the possible awards of some big ticket engineering projects with local engineering firm Eckermann Engineering, Inc. designated as the recipient of 8 bids totaling over $267 thousand. The Capital projects are all for water and wastewater projects, except for one $13,750 proposal on the design of a replacement vehicle traffic bridge by the Ruth Eakin Theatre.

Other discussions include a bid for some demolition on the Old City Hall and City Electric System maintenance matters.
