Goings on this weekend…..

DEA Drug take back day is going on today from 10am-2pm at the Lampasas Police Dept. located at 301 E. 4th St. in Lampasas. Bring your potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for free and anonymous drop off today. This will be set up outside the police department to make it easier for people to drop off their medications. Liquids, needles, and sharps are not accepted. Only pills and patches can be accepted.

Lampasas High School FFA, or most of the students, are on the way home from Indianapolis. The students were doing some sightseeing and shopping at the Indianapolis airport before taking off.    PCI The FFA Band students will be flying home tonight after their last performance.

The Lampasas Riding Club’s Family Fun Day is Saturday October 22nd at the Lampasas Arena located at 2478 S. Hwy 183. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides and a concession stand along with costume contests with and without horses. Lots of games, too. There are no fees, all events by donation.       The fun starts at 10:00am.                                                                                         

The Free Kids Halloween Party at the Kempner VFW,  located at 424 CR 4931,  is Saturday from 2-4pm. There will be a cake walk, a haunted house and a costume contest by age group. Refreshments will be provided.

Courthouse Tours Continue

Representatives of Lampasas civic and business organizations have announced guided tours of the state's third oldest operating courthouse. The tours take place starting at 11am and 2pm at the south entrance (4th St.) to the courthouse.

The Lampasas High School Marching Band is competing today in the Region 32 Marching Band Contest today. The Badgers march at 3:15pm. If a 1st division rating is earned, the Badger Marching Band will advance to the UIL Area D Marching Contest next Saturday the 29th at Crusader Stadium at Mary Hardin Baylor University.

With this beautiful weather seems like this might be a good weekend to tackle some of the yard work as well…
