The Badger Freshmen fell to the LaVega Pirates by the score of 28-32. Many big plays and several lead changes made for an exciting game as the Badgers fell just short. The offensive line paved the way for big runs by Everts and Rascoe throughout the evening.
Badger JV Football took an 8-0 lead early with a TD run By Jon Davis and a two point run by Qadir Tolliver. Jon Gutheridge scored on an interception return to make the score 14-0. The Badgers did not get on the board after that and fell to the Pirates 14-28.
Lampasas Middle School Football 8th grade A team fell to La Vega 36-6. The lone offensive score was by Ace Whitehead. The 8th grade B team did not play. Lampasas Middle School Football 7th grade A team won 34- 8 against the LaVega Pirates. Special teams and Defense were the key to victory. Special teams converted 2 on side kicks at the start of the game and the Badgers jumped out to a 20 to 0 lead in the first quarter. Sean Smith also caused a fumble and Hunter Biddy recovered the fumble. The pirates finally got an offensive possession and scored. They were very fast and physical, but at the half the score at half time was 20-8. The Coaching staff made adjustments on defense and the pirates did not score the rest of the game. The offense rolled because of the play of the defense and special teams. I wish we could put all their names in this write up, they deserve a lot of credit. It was a total team effort and the players did an excellent job of execution, team tackling and adjustment. The team is now 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the district. The Lampasas Middle School 7th grade B team won 14-0 against the LaVega Pirates. The defense shut out the Pirates and caused 2 fumbles and stopped the pirates on 4th down on numerous occasions. Ruger Miserlian and Rafeal Mendoza were dominant all night, and were the stars of the night causing a 2 point safety. The rest of the team played an outstanding game and executed with determination, sacrifice and discipline. Carson Bekker ran the ball hard, physical and had the offense surging towards a touchdown. I was impressed with the team tenacity. The 7th grade B team is 2-0 in the district and 4-1-1 overall.
